Our Story

Roots and Legacy United Foundation was founded by Jacqueline and Kingsley Malcolm, two proud Jamaicans whose shared commitment to faith, family, and service has guided their lives for decades.

After immigrating from Jamaica, the Malcolms devoted their careers to healthcare, therapy, and community uplift. What began as small acts of giving—supporting students with tuition, collecting supplies, and organizing mission trips—grew into a lifelong mission to empower others through compassion and action.

Roots and Legacy builds on that work, expanding their efforts to build homes, support medical and dental outreach, enhance educational access, and promote mental wellness across communities in Jamaica and the United States.

Grounded in love and sustained by purpose, the Foundation exists to strengthen families and help every community rise together.

Meet The Team

Jacqueline Malcolm

Co-Founder

Jacqueline Malcolm is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and community leader dedicated to helping individuals and families reach their fullest potential. With over two decades of experience spanning counseling, case management, and behavioral health, Jacqueline has spent the last five years working as a therapist focused on empowerment and emotional well-being.

As a mother of three accomplished children, Jacqueline brings deep empathy and lived experience to her work—grounding every initiative in love, compassion, and care. Through the Roots and Legacy United Foundation, she champions sustainable community impact, creating programs that uplift underserved populations and strengthen the foundation of family and faith.

Kingsley Malcolm

Co-Founder

With more than 25 years in healthcare, Kingsley Malcolm has devoted his career to service—supporting rural health systems and patients across Upstate New York as a key member of an anesthesia department. Beyond his profession, Kingsley’s heart for people drives his leadership within the Roots and Legacy United Foundation, where he works to ensure the organization remains ready to respond wherever need arises.

Alongside his wife, Jacqueline, he has led numerous community efforts—from building homes and delivering medical care to expanding educational access across Jamaica and the United States.
